Davis Square
UrbanMeadow
CAMBRIDGE, MA
This urban, high-trafficked garden transformed from a plot of land filled with aggressive species and a short bloom time, into a resilient pollinator meadow, buzzing with draught resistant perennials all season long, and grasses that stun well into the winter months.
We used the Permaculture practice of sheet-mulching, ensuring to use the biomass on the property - turning the plant matter into compost and other beneficial nutrients and minerals. .
What I love most about this garden is how many people stop to take photos of it. There is always something shockingly beautiful taking place - and I truly believe that this particular location is benefitting the community in ways we can't even imagine.
